Cuantas veces nos hemos preguntado, ¿Cómo podemos ayudar al planeta sin cambiar hábitos tan bruscamente? pues una solución para esto seria cambiar nuestros focos amarillentos, viejos, tenues por los focos ahorradores, en cambio estos tienen mas luminosidad y tienes una luz blanca (la verdadera luz). Este tipo de focos aunque son un poco mas caras duran hasta 10 veces más.

Este tipo de focos ahorran hasta un 80% de la energía de un foco convencional. un ejemplo seria que una bombilla de 60 watts prendida durante diez horas al día, durante un mes, equivale al gasto de $30, mientras que una ahorradora implica un costo de $5. Puesto que la inversión inicial es muy alta mucha gente se reusa a comprar focos ahorradores pero a la larga estos son mucho más económicos.

Y para aquellas personas que no les gusta la luz blanca, hay gran variedad focos, como por ejemplo luz amarilla, blanca, de día, de noche. y también hay diferentes modelos.
Tal ves esto no tengo mucho que ver pero en mi opinión es un tema muy interesante.
Gran cantidad de plantas, a lo largo del tiempo han ayudado a curar algunas enfermedades, o tal ves no enfermedades sino mas bien como dolores o espasmos. He aqu'i unas plantas medicinales:
Electric Motor Bike Aims to Smash Speed Record The Ion Horse electric superbike has been created by Kingston University, is sponsored by Vince's energy company Ecotricity, and is being taken to the Isle of Man to compete in the most prestigious zero emission electric motorbike race in the world.
The creators of this GB£150,000 bike are hoping to become the first electric bike to complete a lap of the circuit with an average speed of over 100mph, claiming a cash prize of GB£10,000 from the Isle of Man Government which has so far been unclaimed since the electric-bike event was founded. Vince suggested that the project provides a glimpse at the future of transportation:
"Following hard on the heels of our wind powered car, the Nemesis - comes Ion Horse our wind powered bike. The guys at Kingston have built an amazing machine and we expect it to take the TT by storm. It's another great demonstration of how transport of the very near future will be - powered by renewable energy, made in Green Britain - and with zero pollution."
A Glimpse of the "Near Future" of Transportation?
Just how much such initiatives contribute to a workable model for wider transportation choices will depend on your perspective, of course. When Vince first launched his Nemesis wind-powered car, it attracted a lot of attention—both positive and negative.
While many people were excited about a project that could further demonstrate the potential of electric vehicles, some were concerned about yet another toy for the rich as opposed to a practical mode of transportation, and yet others were derisive of the idea that it was "wind powered". (Though as I've said before, given the number of wind turbines Mr Vince has built, and the fact he is powering his car using electricity from green sources, I am inclined to give him a pass on that one.) I suspect that the Ion Horse project will be similarly divisive. Just One Piece of the Puzzle
It goes without saying that bike-friendly cities, public transportation, telecommuting,car sharing and more affordable electric vehicles all rank well above electric supercars and superbikes on the TreeHugger wish list.
But as long as speed freaks remain, I'm delighted to see them running on batteries.
The Plastiki has a new competitor -- the Polli-Boat. A prototype of this concept boat set sail in Taiwan this week in celebration of World Oceans Day, and it's eco-credentials are impressive. Made from plastic bottles, old advertising banners, and other "trash" (read: misplaced raw materials), it boasts six solar panels to power an electric motor when there isn't wind enough to sail.
Polli-Boat is built by Miniwiz Sustainable Energy Development Ltd -- these are the same folks behind one of our favorite portable wind-power chargers, the Hymini, and several other eco-friendly projects like a bike charger and building "bricks" made from recycled plastic. In fact, those same bricks came into play with this boat.
As Reuters reports, the main flotation system of the boat is constructed out of 804 of the bricks made of recycled plastic bottles and strengthened with PET (though Miniwiz states that number is 760). Old ad banners form the sails. And when there isn't enough wind to travel, six 72-watt soft solar panels are busy harvesting enough energy to power the electric motor. Miniwiz states on its website, "POLLI BOAT is the world's first trimaran inspired by the 3R practices-Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. Designed and engineered by Miniwiz S.E.D., Polli-Boat is made of recycled materials including the revolutionary POLLI-BRICKS™ and a newly developed green material WPC (wood-plastic composite). The boat uses waste canvas as decking and its renewable energy systems powered by both solar and wind, can be interchangeable depending on weather conditions. Seven hundred and sixty POLLI-BRICKS™ are used as the major floating device in the main hull and outer tubes due to POLLI-BRICKS™ large air pockets. WPC is used as the top decking material to replace traditional FRP (Fiber Reinforced Plastic); which is unrecyclable and toxic during the manufacturing process."

Much like how the Plastiki intended its voyage to be awareness-raising, the Polli-Boat will travel around Taiwan as an educational tool.
Arthur and the folks at Miniwiz never cease to impress us with what new designs they devise, and this boat is just part of the many cool things they have going. Una vez más nos ocupamos de contaros las mejores ideas en materia deahorro de agua y energía. Hoy salimos de los laboratorios de las universidades más mundo y entramos…. en una escuela primaria! De allí, del ingenio de un niño de 9 años, ha salido una investigación que ha logrado ahorrar mucha agua al ayuntamiento de Reno en el estado deNevada (Estados Unidos).
Todo comenzó con una casual observación del pequeño Mason Perezcuando aún tenía 7 años: el agua del lavamanos del baño público delparque local salía tan fuerte que apenas podía poner sus manitos. Notó entonces que era innecesario que saliera el agua tan fuerte (con tanta presión) y que si cerrara le grifo a la mitad, habría todavía un caudal suficiente para asearse. Se estaba desperdiciando agua.
Pues esta pequeña idea se trasladó a su proyecto de la feria de ciencias escolar. Para presentarlo hizo una investigación previa: medir la cantidad de agua que salía en una cantidad de tiempo estipulada con el grifo completamente abierto, y con el grifo abierto por la mitad. Cubeta y cronómetro en mano comprobó su teoría.
Su trabajo tuvo importantes repercusiones: ganó la feria de ciencias, convenció al encargado del parque de cerrar parcialmente la válvula delagua para tener menos presión en los grifos y ahora ha pasado a la empresa proveedora de agua de la ciudad que busca implementarla en otros espacios públicos.

El medio ambiente es todo el entorno en el que estamos, nosotros tenemos la responsabilidad de cuidarlo, por que alfin y alcabo solo tenemos uno. En mi punto de opinión estamos actuando de una manera muy tonta ya que si solo tenemos un medio ambiente, un mundo, un planeta, ¿por que no a de cuidarlo y mejorarlo?
Si hay algo que se pueda modificar y usar, ¿Por qué no la hacemos? por ejemplo, un tubo del rollo de papel, puede llegar a ser un lapicero.
